IQAC stands for the Internal Quality Assurance Cell. It is a mechanism in educational institutions, primarily in India, to ensure and enhance the quality of education and institutional performance. The establishment of IQACs is typically mandated by regulatory bodies like the University Grants Commission (UGC) or the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The primary objective of an IQAC is to develop a system for consistent quality improvement in various aspects of the institution, including teaching, research, infrastructure, governance, and other related activities. The IQAC acts as a nodal agency responsible for coordinating and implementing quality-related initiatives across the institution.
In August 2007 the Internal Quality Assurance Cell was established in this college. The establishment of IQAC has marked a watershed as far as the understanding of the notion of “Quality Assurance” in the Institution is concerned. The IQAC is successful not only in taking up several quality assurance activities but also in the creation of an institutional database in the Institution.
One of the significant contributions of IQAC is to implement the student’s feedback on the curriculum. The feedback is collected online and is done at the end of each semester. The feedback collected on the curriculum is compiled and reported to the departments. The departments, in turn, take up necessary corrective measures.
